Sexual Assault Services provides the following services to the Racine community. All services are free of charge. 24-Hour Crisis Line, Volunteer advocates and staff provide crisis intervention and support to survivors, their families and other community members concerned about sexual assault. Calls are taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Collect calls are accepted. Hospital Response Team - Volunteer advocates and staff respond 24 hours a day to Racine and Burlington hospitals to meet with survivors and families to provide emotional support and information. Therapy - Short and long term therapy is provided free of charge by masters level counselors to individuals, couples and families who have been affected by sexual violence. Therapy is provided in both English and Spanish. Support Groups - SAS provides support groups for survivors of sexual assault and their support people. All groups are confidential. Legal Advocacy - SAS provides support and information throughout the legal process. Staff can accompany survivors and their families to court as well as attend hearings that survivors and their families cannot or wish not to attend. Child Advocacy Center - A SAS Family Advocate provides support, information and advocacy to the children and families served at the Racine County Child Advocacy Center. Bilingual Outreach Advocate provides personal, medical, family and legal advocacy, as well as outreach services for Spanish speaking sexual assault survivors and their family members. Referrals - SAS provides referrals to community resources serving survivors and their families. Prevention Education - SAS provides free educational programs for community groups, agencies and schools. Community Awareness - SAS provides educational in-services and information for community organizations, businesses, schools, agencies and government agencies.
